Merry Christmas Eve!
When I last posted, my mom, my dad, Stephen, and I were gearing up for the Cross-Country Christmas Caravan of 2009.
After waking up at 3 a.m., piling in the car, and driving for 14 hours (we made great time this year), my family safely arrived in Missouri around 6 o’clock on Tuesday night.
After the hungry travelers scarfed down my sister’s delectable lasagna, we played with the kids as their bedtime hour approached.
Max and Clara were fascinated with my blog. They wanted to watch my plyometric videos over and over again. They thought “Aunt Lily was being silly,” and they laughed every time we watched one.
After the kids were put to bed, the adults played some Boggle (we’re so cool), and went to bed shortly thereafter.
Wednesday was filled with present wrapping.
I am a terrible, terrible present wrapper. See the two-toned gift below?
That one’s from Rudolph.
We pinned my poor wrapping skills on him a couple of times.
Check out some of the things that Clara is getting. Sometimes I wish I were still four.
This one is my fave. I still love Hello Kitty!
After wrapping, we lounged around. And of course, played with the little ones.
They required some airing out, so we took them to Fun Run to wear them down a bit.
We were thrilled to be there.
Max and Clara’s babysitter came over to exchange Christmas gifts.
Clara was quite pleased with princess stickers and a pink apron. She is such a girl.
Today began with a sisterly workout in the basement where Jodi and my brother-in-law have some weights and a treadmill.
Do we look at all alike? I’m 5’9”, and she’s 5’1”. I have straight hair, and her’s is naturally curly. Most people are surprised to learn that we are sisters!

Remember when I blogged about my fat cat?
My sister has one that’s even more husky. Meet all 22 pounds of Mr. Wendal.
Like Beatrice, he is all sweetness and love.
Wendal has taken notice of the clamor in the kitchen today. He is hopeful that he can score some scraps of smoked brisket.
I’m more excited about the cheddar, cheese, and chive biscuits and the pumpkin cheesecake.
I’ll be posting pictures of our feast tomorrow. As well as some recipes courtesy of my sister and brother-in-law.
I hope your night before Christmas is festive and bright!
Lily

My sister and I are the same way! She is 5 feet, 100 pounds, with blonde hair and gorg blue eyes. I am brown hair, brown eyes and 5’6. I also weight 50 pounds more than her. I totally got the shaft.
Loved the pictures…I’m getting all warm and toasty just looking at all these holiday cheer!
22 lb cat! Whoa! As long as it’s 22 lbs of sweetness and love!
Merry Christmas!!!!
Glad to have found your blog! Great pictures! Good for you in getting in a workout in the basement — you and your sister really don’t look alike! Have happy holidays, I look forward to reading more!
It must be so much fun to have little ones around! Have a Merry Christmas! (Congrats on the Christmas Eve workout! and your “silly” videos!)
You can definitely tell that you guys are sisters – the hair and height does throw it off though.
I am the worst Christmas wrapper on the planet. My fiance puts me to shame every year.
Merry Christmas!
I’m a terrible gift wrapper also! Eh- whatever…it’s what’s inside that counts
Looks like a great Christmas!
ZOMG. I’m as tall or short as your sister! heh.
