My family finally arrived to our home in South Carolina around 1:30 a.m. on Monday morning. The drive from Missouri took 18 hours. It. Was. Miserable. Icy roads combined with some major traffic accidents significantly delayed our trip. I am so thankful to be out of the car!
We had a wonderful time with Jodi, Garrett, Max, and Clara. I miss my niece and nephew already! Who wouldn’t want to see these sweet faces all of the time?
I love this picture of Clara with her chapstick. She carried it around with her all day, every day. Any time that someone would call it chapstick, she would correct them and remind them that it is, in fact, lipstick. Wishful thinking, Clara Bear!

After catching up on some sleep, I awoke yesterday feeling a bit blah. I’m blaming it on the Christmas indulgences. Although I feel like I consumed a respectable ratio of healthy foods to treat foods, I’m ready to get back on track. I’m ready to eat more fruits and veggies and less refined sugars and flours.
I’m going to use this week to detoxify my body from the excess of holiday fare and use my new Cannon Powershot 1200 to chronicle my eats. I love having a small camera that I can take with me wherever I go!
Breakfast
Kashi Go Lean cereal, Greek Yogurt, and Pomegranate arils.
With some Good Earth Tropical Peach black tea
Then Stephen and I went on a run. After 2.5 miles, we just weren’t feeling it, so we walked another 2, for a total of 4.5 miles of exercise.
Post Exercise Snack
about 6 ounces of 100% carrot juice
After we completed our exercise, Stephen and I decided to do a bit of post-holiday shopping.
My parent’s house is seriously lacking in food right now, so I packed a quick lunch/snack to eat while Stephen and I were on our excursion.
An apple and a dried cranberry, cashew, and almond trail mix
We went to Bath and Body Works, Old Navy, Aldi, and Amazing Savings.
Bath and Body Works is having their semi-annual sale right now. I followed budget tip #6 and bought myself shampoo, conditioner, lotion, and shower gel. I spent about 60 dollars, but this stuff will last me at least 6 months.
This lunch held me over for much longer than expected, but after 4 hours of shopping, Stephen and I were famished. We decided that our degree of hunger could be satisfied by only one type of food…THAI!
We decided to try out a new Thai restaurant in my hometown.
It did not disappoint.
Stephen and I love Thai food. We order the same dish every time.
Red Curry! I ordered mine with tofu. Stephen got chicken. Chef’s Secret red curry included bamboo shoots, eggplant, and peppers. It was chock-full of veggies! I ate about half of what is pictured. The other half is going to be today’s lunch.
We returned from our outing and relaxed. It had been a long two days! Stephen read his Get Fuzzy book that my sister gave him for Christmas while I caught up on my favorite blogs and watched You Are What You Eat. Have you seen it? It’s a television show on the BBC, and it’s my new favorite!
I had this trio of chocolates as my dessert.
With tea, of course.
We called it an early night, and I woke up this morning feeling both rested and cheery. Not sure what the plan is for today. Either hiking or more shopping!
Question: What’s your favorite Bath and Body Works scent?
I think that mine is pink grapefruit or sweet cinnamon pumpkin. But really I love it all! I’m a sucker for stuff that smells good.

18 hours in the car? Yikes! I thought the 9 hour trip to Va Beach was bad.
I love Bolthouse Farms! I haven’t tried their carrot juice yet though. I am a huge fan of thai food and I always get the same thing too- tofu pad thai. I tend to stick with the same thing once I find something I really like!
I think my fave bath and body works scent is coconut lime verbena- I haven’t been in there in a while though. I’ll have to go check out the new scents!
I love good earth tea!
I think my fav B&B scent is Vanilla. I love vanilla anything.

I LOVE thai food. My fave scent is the lime and coconut…wait…I DUNNO they are all good!
I need to stop with the holiday treats and get my diet more on track! I loveee carrot juice!! Really wishing I had some right now.
I am now fianlly getting back to my old routine and today is the first day my body has felt back to normal and good.
I am not crazy about scented lotions or body wash… that said I do like the Cherry Blossom Scent body wash after a long sweaty workout.
