Spring Break with the Fam

Well, my Spring Break is nearing its end.  I arrived home from my sister’s house in Missouri about 45 minutes ago.  I’ve already snacked, unpacked, and prepped for tomorrow’s work day.  So now, I’m blogging.  I had every intention of popping in for a post while visiting my family, but I never got around to it.  I only see my sister, brother-in-law, niece, and nephew about 4 times a year, so every moment spent with them is precious, and I didn’t want to be tied to the computer during this visit.

We did a lot of fun things.

Such as take family walks.

(Clara, 4 and Max, 7)

To cemeteries.

Max and Clara were fascinated with this place.  They loved reading the gravestones.

Grandma, Grandpa, and I also supervised Max and Clara as they dyed eggs.

A lot of eggs were damaged in the process.

But many pretty eggs were still produced.

We also ate quite well.  My sister is an excellent chef and baker!

currysoup

Cauliflower, sweet potato, and curry soup

avocado

Avocado panini with roasted chickpeas

easterdinner

Easter dinner- BBQ brisket, mashed potatoes, and asparagus

Visiting Jodi also means that I get to have some Mr. Wendell snuggle time.  I don’t know if this picture does him justice…he is HUGE.  In length and width.

Jodi has him on a vet sanctioned diet.  However, Mr. Wendall says dieting is no fun!  He pretty much stood by his food bowl all day long, hoping he could entice someone to slip him some extra.

He did leave his bowl long enough to spend some time reading with his auntie though.

I’m off!  It’s been a long day of traveling!

HAPPY EASTER, everyone!!!

Question: What did you have for Easter dinner?

I love the look of your sister’s soup! Recipe!? :D

OMG, I love Mr. Wendall! Can he be Drama’s boyfriend?

That bbq brisket looks amazing. I just made the traditional ham, but now that I’m a Southerner, maybe I’ll switch? :)

Guess what? I had EXACTLY the same feast as you did for Easter. Figure that?
It is interesting the comments about cemetaries (i.e. Morgan) as I used to love running through cemetaries in my jogging days, and, as you know, I grew up (and your Grandma Sissy) lives right next to a very large cemetary where your Grandfather Earl was buried. Theu can be very peaceful places ………
