Happy Wednesday!
I tell ya, I have been exhausted all week long! It’s definitely an adjustment getting back into an “early to bed, early to rise” lifestyle. I miss sleeping in!
I do have a special visitor this week though. Stephen’s spring break is this week, and he’s spending his time off with me. Unfortunately, we don’t have too many activities planned, as I have to work all week, but we’re managing to enjoy each other’s company nonetheless. It has definitely been nice having someone around to cook for! (Even if that person is a little picky.)
Exercise
Today was a day of minimal exercise. Instead of hitting the gym, Stephen and I decided to go for about a 2 mile walk. We took a trip to the same neighborhood that we visited not too long ago.
I really want Stephen to meet the precious Golden Retriever who lives in one of the houses, but we missed him yet again today!
We did see a collection of cats though.
Breakfast
Raspberry Galaxy Granola (check out the raspberry chunks!), Tempt Vanilla Hemp Milk, crunchy peanut butter, flaxseed meal, and unsweetened coconut flakes.
Lunch
I had leftovers from Monday night’s dinner.
I won this Namaste Foods Taco Pasta in Missy’s giveaway. The pasta is made from brown rice and hempseed.
I followed the instructions, then added a diced tomato, diced onion, and black beans to the pasta. Then I topped it off with avocado slices.
Stephen and I really liked this dish! We decided that the pasta had an excellent consistency. It was a tad bit chewier than typical pastas, and that’s what we like!
Dinner
For dinner I made a vegetable curry. It contained carrot, cauliflower, parsnip, mushroom, spinach, and cilantro.
Stephen was really, really skeptical about eating this dish. But he finally gave in and decided that it was rather tasty.
Stephen also contributed to dinner. Apparently while I was at work, he came across an episode of Rachel Ray’s television show, 30 Minute Meals. After watching her make a wine spritzer, he decided to recreate this refreshing cocktail.
Step 1: Place raspberries in the bottom of a wine glass.
Step 2: Squeeze the juice of one orange slice into the glass.
Step 3: Gently crush raspberries and mix with orange juice.
Step 4: Fill glass 3/4 full with white wine of choice. Then add a splash of soda water.
And there you have it!

Question: Do you and your significant other always agree on what to cook for dinner? Stephen and I often have difficulty agreeing!

It’s so cute that you walk in a certain neighborhood in the hopes of seeing the golden. If you are ever in Atlanta, you and Stephen can visit with Murphy as much as you’d like!
Jason’s pretty easy-going with dinner. Basically, I make something and he eats it!
Tyler and I pick out meals together, so it’s no big deal. I LOVE that wine spritzer idea — we will be stealing that!
We almost never agree on “what’s for dinner.” He is very much a meat and potatoes guy while I love veggies and trying new things.
We most definitely do not agree! We usually end up making things like burritos and pizza where we can easily do his and hers versions
first all I’m happy he’s there with you for a WHOLE week. When Glenn and I were in a long distance relationship he stayed a whole month with me and I was so happy. So I know the feeling!
We don’t ALWAYS agree on a dish but he’ll try it or I’ll change it up so he’ll eat it.
Luckily Keith is not picky at all and will eat anything I put in front of him!
I love that cocktail, is sounds so fresh and delicious with the raspberries and orange! What kind of wine did you use? I bet it would work well with a red or white wine.
Mark and I often don’t agree on dinner, so we do try to compromise some. Since we meal plan together on the weekends, he knows what’s coming for the week, but often we want different things on different nights and he has this weird aversion to leftovers!
that taco pasta sounds aweeesome!!
and haha, no i did not go to redfern, REDFERN SUCKS!!! they have no idea what they are doing. everybody that came in last semester that felt somewhat bad, they diagnosed them w. the swine flu! ahaha!
the spring game is this weekend and im so pumped for that!
Taco Pasta?! twisted; that’s awesome.
Katherine
Hehe, I love all those cats in that neighborhood! So cute
and they’re all so tubby and adorable
Gosh I love cats.
Oh my, that avocado is so bright and pretty! My husband and I tend to agree on dinner simply because I’m the one who cooks so he has little say
Hah, Lily! It makes no difference if my significant other (wife of nearly 39 years and your mother of almost 26) and I disagree for dinners as she is in charge. Besides it appears none of you seem to think my meal choices are wonderfully nutritious and merit anything other than a solitaire selection and a few smirks!
My fiance is the pickiest eater on earth, so he rarely wants what I want. I find myself eating more plain foods when he’s home.
Aww I just love walking! It’s so nice to just be outside and enjoy the company of someone you love. I can’t believe there were so many cats! Ha.
Delicious meals, Lily! I just love the taco pasta dish. Anytime I can add black beans, salsa, and avocado, I am one happy camper! Daniel and I usually agree. Well, I’ll put it this way, Daniel doesn’t really care what we have for dinner and let’s me decide 98% of the time. I guess I’m really lucky in that way. But sometimes we differ and I go with his choice because he’s generally so good about mine.
Have a lovely night!!
Well, I don’t have a significant other anymore, but we actually did tend to agree on our meals most of the time. I like to think that my healthy lifestyle rubbed off on him =) Not that any of that matters anymore, haha.
Your lunch looks DIVINE! But I mean, you could throw avocado on cardboard and I’d still eat it
Mmmm . . that taco pasta looked awesome. And that cocktail seems tasty, almost like a Sangria. Maybe I’ll go pour myself a glass of wine . .
oh i am so glad stephen gets to spend some time with you
did you say taco pasta!? what? sounds like heaven to me.
guess what girlie-stella is the name of the bike! email me your address so i can mail out your cute shirt
That cocktail looks delicious! I love raspberries.
ooh yum! that white wine spritzer looks really delicious. I wonder if it would be good with champagne?
looks like a nice day! that cocktail looks really delicious, great idea. Chris and I sometimes have trouble deciding what to make, but most of the time he really likes what I fix
We usually have the hardest decision when we go out to eat. Have a nice weekend!
That drink looks really good! I LOVE raspberries.
My boyfriend and I usually agree on what to make for dinner. He gets weird cravings and I’m pretty easy going about what I eat.
Oo that taco pasta does look really good, and so does the dinner you cooked. It’s great that you guys are getting to spend time together even if you have to work some of it.
As for agreeing on dinner, my fiance and I live together and almost every single night cook our own meals. We are completely different eaters and both way too stubborn to adapt to the others “style” (I am more plain and healthy, he is more saucy). There is only one or two dishes that we an agree on and he cooks those
The taco pasta sounds really good! For some reason, Gluten Free foods always go well
Assuming I’ll ever have a significant other…we probably would never agree on anything because I like people who are the opposite of me!
Dinner looks AWESOMe. I don’t even understand why Stephen had to hesitate…I would have dived in without a moment’s pause!
What is with all the cats? Sheesh!
I love your wine spritzer idea. I must give it a whirl for a refreshing spring time treat. Brilliant!
James and I usually like the same things and I love it when he likes my healthy version!
Sneaky kitties.. I love how every single cat looks like they are slyly hiding something.
It’s always fun to try to tempt a picky eater with nontraditional foods. My little brother is the world’s worst.. I just don’t understand it since he is missing out on so much good food! Oh, well to each their own.
