Hey blog readers!
I’m currently lying on Stephen’s couch, sipping a glass of red wine, blogging, and watching my latest Netflix DVD, Beach Girls. It’s a Lifetime television series that only lasted one year. So far I can see why.
How have your weekends been so far? Mine has been awesome. It’s my birthday weekend! I couldn’t ask for anything more on my birthday than a chance to relax. My actual birthday is April 16th, which was yesterday, but since I was stuck in class all day listening to long-winded case study presentations, I’ve been pretending like today is my birthday. Despite yesterday being a bit of a bore, a lot of exciting things have happened these past few days, making my 26th birthday rather special.
8 Reasons Why I’ve Had a Rockin’ Birthday
1) I received surprise granola.
My friend Diana sent me unexpected goodies this week!
She sent samples of Milk & Honey Granola + a Cashew Cookie Larabar. I’ve previously had neither, and I was impressed by both!
After opening the package, I immediately dove in! This is the Original Cafe Mix. It contained dried cherries…MMmmmm!
It was just as good on oatmeal the next day!
Thanks for the package, Diana! I’m so happy to have you as a bloggie friend!
2) I won a giveaway.
Kalli hosted a fun contest where she solicited reader help in order to come up with a name for her new bike. My suggestion was ‘Stella,’ and I ended up winning!
My prize? This sweet shirt.
I love it! Wearing it makes me feel very ‘LA.’
3) Stephen cooked me a delicious birthday meal!
After a long, long drive to Charleston, I was presented with a tasty meal when I walked in the door.
Vegetarian tacos! Stephen was very sweet to make me a veggie meal. We’ve been having “meat wars” lately. Simply put, he likes to eat meat, and I don’t.
He even bought whole wheat tortillas! He’s learning.
My delicious taco.
Yumminess.
But here’s the best part of the meal…
Cookie cake is my favorite dessert ever!
I might have gone back for more after eating this piece.
4) My final case study presentation is over.
Only one more paper standing between me and graduation!
Before presentation:
After presentation:
At Wild Wings with classmates. Taking advantage of the $3 Firefly Sweet Tea Vodka drinks. (Does Firefly exist anywhere else?)
5) I Body Attacked my heart out this morning!

Yay, Body Attack 68! I’m obsessed. There might not be another person in the world who loves Body Attack like I do.
6) I purchased an Earthfare veggie juice.
Obviously it doesn’t take much to make my day. I drove by Earthfare on my way home from Body Attack, and I heard the fresh veggie juice calling my name.
This had carrot, beet, apple, parsley, and spirulina. So good!
I think I might ask for a juicer for graduation. Does anyone have affordable suggestions?
7) I had lunch with Kimberly.
Kimberly and I used to work together as graduate assistants. I haven’t seen her in forever, and it was so good to catch up! We both share a love for LOST as well as many other television shows, and I miss our tv discussions!
Kimberly is also rather awesome because she loves to bake. She is always up to date on the latest food products. For example, she was the first person to tell me about Pop Chips well over a year ago!
We ate at Panera where I got the Mediterranean Salad.
It came topped with salmon, mandarin oranges, feta cheese, almonds, kalmata olives, and red onions.
Not too shabby!
8 Stephen got me the best birthday present a blogger could ask for.
Stephen always gives the best gifts! When I arrived in Charleston Thursday night, he presented me with this…
A notebook computer! An Asus EE PC to be exact.
Look how tiny! The small keyboard and screen are going to take some getting used to, but it will become second nature eventually. I’m just so excited! Words can’t even describe.
Stephen chose this gift because he knows how much trouble I have blogging when I’m traveling. Now I can blog anywhere there is an internet connection! Boo Yah!!!
**
Well, I’m off! Stephen and I are about to experience the 9th reason I’ve had a rockin’ birthday. It involves Thai food.
Question: Do you blog from a desktop, laptop, phone, or other device?
I usually blog from my personal laptop. However, it doesn’t function like a laptop. The screen broke about a year ago, so it has to rest against the wall and stay stationary like a desktop now.:-(

Happy birthday, happy birthday! Sounds like you have had a fabulous day. I have no juicer suggestions…sorry. I do blog from a personal laptop. My screen broke two years ago one day after my warrantly expires
So I had to buy a new laptop.
Yes, Happy Birthday! All awesome components to a great day.
I blog from a laptop, but that little notebook looks like a great tool to use for blogging.
Happy birthday Lily!
Wow, Body Attack sounds pretty intense. Glad you like it so much.
I blog from my lap top…I don’t have a phone with internet, and I think I would find it annoying to type out a blog post using a phone anyway.
hope you have an amazing weekend
Happy birthday gorgeous!!!
Happy belated birthday!! It looks like you had an awesome weekend and I love the notebook computer…so tiny
Wow, you kept that quiet – HAPPY BIRTHDAY [for the 16th]!!
Sounds like you had a good day, espec that cookie cake…wowzers!
I blog from my laptop – I could reaaaally use a notebook thing or iphone though, then I could blog EVERYWHERE!
Happpeeee belated beee-daayyyy!!!! <3
I love everything on that list!! Especially the cookie cake, which I have never tried, so I've always imagined it as being the tastiest thing ever. I think you may actually be Body Attack's number one fan
I also like that slogan "love doesn't need handles."
Happy Happy Happy birthday Lily! It sounds like it has been fantastic!! I 100% agree with you about cookie cake…the best dessert ever!! No contest in my book! Enjoy 26…you totally deserve all the happiness life can bring you!
Happy belated birthday Lily!
I wish I could take a body attack class. There are none in LA for some reason!
HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY LILY!!!!! I’m wishing you the best and brightest weekend! It seems like you have had a wonderful few days full of love, good food, and amazing gifts! How sweet is Stephen??? Love that!
You look so happy and beautiful in your photos. I just love your thick shiny hair so much!
Cookie cake made me smile and drool a bit. Ok, a lot.
I use a laptop but I think a desktop would be good so I’m not constantly gazing downward and hunching over the computer, therefore giving myself a back and neck ache!
Happy birthday, Lily! Looks like it’s been awesome one — you deserve it!! I blog from a laptop but I usually have it on the desk when I do because it’s easier to upload pix (I use a USB; this laptop doesn’t have a card reader).
Happy Birthday to YOU!! I’m glad it was memorable. It looks like you had a great one, filled with great company, and GREAT food! I love cookie cakes, personally. They are always so tasty, no matter what.
The meal Stephen cooked looks amazing. I want one…NOW!
I love your new notebook computer. I have a MacBook so it’s already pretty small, I love it. I didn’t love the price though, not looking forward to this thing breaking….. I use it all day, everyday (that’s what Nick says) so I won’t be surprised when it dies. It will be sad though.
Love doesn’t need handles…LOL. HAPPY, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! Looks like a great one!
Happy happy birthday! It sounds like you had a fantastic weekend
You must be so relieved to have your presentation over! How sweet of Stephen to make you a veggie tacos, yum! I generally blog from my laptop or desktop. Your netbook is cute!
I’m happy you liked the granola and bar!! Happy happy birthday lovely blogger friend! And stephen is DEFINITELY treating you like a true princess this weekend!
LUCKY girl!!!! BTW I ate half a cookie cake by myself this past bday..I have issues! I have a laptop I blog from but my heart wants a Mac..maybe next year?!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
A juice is definitely a treat! That is what I got myself too
I’m impressed with anyone who can blog from a phone. I can barely type a text in less than 10 minutes (despite my engineering major)
Katherine
Happy Birthday!! I’m sorry this is a little late
Sounds like it was an awesome one!!
I’m a little behind on my blog reading, but happy birthday!!
To answer your questions, we do have Firefly here, but I wonder if it’s just a southern thing. (I actually refuse to drink it anymore after getting the worst hangover of my life from it), I have a Breville Juicer that was about $100. And I blog from a laptop!
Oh Lily! Happy Belated Bday!!!! SO glad you got the shirt
