So it seems most of you think my news has to do with
this…
or
this…
Well, neither of these guesses were correct.
In fact, the truth is there’s a new man in my life.
Out with the old.
And in with the new.
Meet my cat: Link Bartholomew.
Paula, you guessed right!
Back when I was living in the Upstate and completing internship, Stephen and I found this sweet little fella’ begging for food at a local park.
I honestly have no clue how he ended up going home with me!
It’s no secret I’m a cat fanatic. I was born with an intense love. As a young child, I spent many an afternoon chasing my neighbors’ cats in the hopes of a brief touch of their soft, fluffy tails.
Despite an intense desire for a furry feline friend, I’ve been able to keep my urge under wraps for 26 years now. I always had a self-imposed goal of saving cat adoption until securing my first job. And I had every intent on realizing this goal.
But on this particular Friday afternoon, with internship ending in approximately two short months, and a full time job on the horizon, my willpower was cracking. I scooped this kitty into my arms, walked him to my car, and drove him home with me.
After taking him to get his shots and signing away for the removal of his manhood, he officially became my baby!
Although, post surgery, I’m fairly certain he wished for motherlessness.
For various private reasons, I never mentioned Link on the blog. My, oh my, was it difficult to keep him a secret.
Mainly because he seems to think food pictures are more photogenic if they include his handsome presence.
Link has added so much joy to my life. I cannot imagine coming home from work every day and going to sleep each night without him being here.
However, if there were no Link…
One thing’s for sure.
My green monster smoothies…
Would remain ALL MINE!

WHAT A CUTIE!!!! love him!
AW he is so cute! Congrats on your little baby. The pictures are hilarious and adorable!
Ahhhh!!!! You got a cat!!! A ridiculously cute one at that. How did you come up with his name? “Link” reminds me of Zelda. And I would have to agree that food photos may be better with his handsome face in there
AWWW I knew it was a pet…didn’t I guess it? Or did I guess that you GOING TO CHARLOTTE NEXT WEEK WHEN I’M THERE? alas,…a girl can dream. Cute and funny post lily!!
Poor Stephen…always the butt of your blog jokes..aahahahhaha
I was so on edge with your news! But I am sooooo excited for the new addition to your life
!
Omg. I really get nerdy for cat posts. He is so handsome!! I love orangey cats, even though I’ve never really had one.
It’s ok. I’m a cat nerd too! When are we getting together to make our cat shirts?
He’s goorrrrgeous!! Congrats!! I love the pic of him in the sink
My cats like to sleep in totally weird places too, it’s adorable!
“Your” Beatrice and Irvin read this blog with me and they are so angry and disappointed that they are going to sponsor a March Against Orange Cats. Perhaps you should hire Link a bodyguard?
Cute post!
Down with Link. Down with Link. ……
(Beatrice made me do it.)

Lily! Link is so cute! I love that he poses for the camera! That face is so precious! Glad the cat is “out of the bag”…god, I hate myself for writing that! I’m coming to Columbia to take my boards on 10/13. Hope you can do dinner & drinks that evening!
YOU’RE BACK!
And as far as having plans for when to get a cat, ours also flew out the window. I promised Matt we could get a dog as soon as we PASSED the professional engineering exam. I apparently forgot part of this and we got a dog as soon as we TOOK the professional engineering exam. Matt didn’t correct my mistake. Thank goodness we passed.
ENJOY THE KITTY!
Awww, what a freaking cutie! I love him!
I used to have an orange kitty named Oatmeal
xxoo
He’s adorable, Sis. Watch out green monsters!
Yay Link! Has he met Beatrice yet? Drama wants to know what she thinks. Drama still doesn’t think too much of her stepsiblings.

OMG! I love Link! <3 I am telling you, orange tabbies are a handfull though. My Choopey is constantly causing a ruckus.
I look forward to his face on this blog! I had a cat that drank out of my water cups all the time, but a kit that drinks a green monster, now that's a keeper!!
