Sweet Treats

I eat dessert after dinner 99% of the time.  At the end of a long day, there is nothing better than snuggling on the couch with Link, watching Netflix DVD’s, and eating my sweet treat.

Usually, my dessert is dark chocolate, but I prefer to have a delicious homemade treat on hand–especially now that I’m challenging myself to save money.  Fresh baked treats tend to cost less per serving than expensive store bought desserts.

Tonight I thought I’d share a few of the desserts I’ve been eating lately.

Frosty No Bake Glo Cakes

  1. Those gingerbread muffins looks really tempting!

I really enjoy eating dried fruit and/or dark chocolate for dessert, but I just made two cookie recipes that are pretty tasty: chipotle dark chocolate cookies and digestive biscuits (slightly sweet English oatmeal cookie).

Your muffin tin looks brand new! Mine looks like it got run over by a truck. Seriously, I have to be careful when I’m drying it because it bends so easily!

Chocolate fondue with bananas is always a favourite of mine. But lately I’ve been having frozen strawberries slightly defrosted in the microwave with a touch of sugar. But a recent favourite has been these oatmeal chocolate chip cookies that I made a couple weeks ago: http://collegecookinggirl.blogspot.com/2011/02/oatmeal-chocolate-chip-cookies.html

I also made some raspberry ginger-ale like drink.
Sugar to taste (1 tbsp or so)
3-4 raspberries, frozen, but thawed enough to smush
~ 1 tsp grated fresh ginger
    club soda
    ice

I mix it all in a glass and it is surprisingly tasty!
