If you’ve never tried making homemade Larabars, you must! They are ridiculously quick and easy to make. Plus, creating your own bars is quite cost-effective. Not to mention, you don’t have to worry about buying a pre-made, moldy bar!
Without further adieu, I present you with the recipe….
Homemade Key Lime Pie Larabar
Ingredients:
- 1/8 c shredded unsweetened coconut
- 1/3 cup mixture, almonds and cashews
- 7 dates
- 4 tsp lime juice
Directions:
- Combine dates, lime juice, and coconut in food processor until the dates create a sticky paste. Set mixture aside in a small bowl.
- Pulse almonds and cashews in food processor until finely chopped. Combine with date mixture.
- Incorporate mixture with hands, and mold into 3 normal-sized and 1 baby-sized bars.
Ta da!
You’ll want to store these in the refrigerator, covered in plastic wrap.
The fridge dries them out a bit, so I’d recommend eating within 3 days of creation.

Off to Body Attack!
That is, if I can tear myself away from One Tree Hill Season 7. I’m certain I’m in the minority when I say this, but this season is SO much better than Season 6. I don’t miss Lucas and Peyton one bit!

…you had me at cost effective!
Seriously, this does look quick and easy! I’m wondering if I could make a whole bunch of them and then store them with my food saver?? Yum!
Wow, this is so simple and it looks just like them–nice job!
I’m about to finish Gilmore Girls and need a new show to get hooked on, One Tree Hill I think it shall be!
Oh wow! What a great idea! I made my own granola bars last week which were phenomenal- until I ate them all in like 4 days. Soooo good!
Wow, they look just like the real thing! So smart!
Yum! Key Lime pie is one of my favorite flavors of larabar.
I’ve never made my own Laras, but I really want to now. I just wish I wasn’t so exhausted these days.
YUM, dates are awesome. they’re super expensive here, but a girl has to treat herself, no?
honestly when lucas turned out to be a dbag in real life I lost interest in his story lines…I heart brooke though!! too bad I gave up on OTH after season 6!! too mopey!
Lily, you are awesome! I am buying my first food processor this weekend (how I live without one, I have no idea!) so this will be fun to try.
I’ve tried making the cherry pie larabars before, but I didn’t have the right equipment so they ended up more like tasty …larabar granola. Now that i have a food processor, I’m more likely to give these a shot!
I would love to make my own LArabars, considering their steep price, but I can’t eat them. The dates and other dried fruits she uses in her bars always give me lots of bloating and gas. Yuck. I did use prunes to make my own “Complete Bars” but I also used oats, walnut butter, peanuts and almonds to add more volume to the bars. Larabars are about 90% dates. I always recommend them to clients though, because I love they have ZERO added sugars!
Wow, these look really good. I make my own granola bars for hiking, but I could use another recipe to vary things up. I am seriously going to give these a try.
I see you are also a donut fan and entered the donut pan giveaway on Iowa Girl Eats. I am also giving away a donut pan, a copy of Lara Ferroni’s Doughnut Book, and an extra wide pastry bag for making French crullers on my blog. Stop by and enter to win. Winner will be announced on March 15. http://bit.ly/e29O8c
Ohh yummy so tropical!
I made this recipe today and it tastes just like the Lara Bars. They are awesome!
I doubled it and added 2 Tbsp of Chai seeds for extra nutrition.
Yay! So glad they exceeded expectations. The Chia seeds are a great idea.
